Yes, the College is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training (ACCET). ACCET has been continuously recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a reliable authority on educational quality since 1978. ACCET strives to identify, evaluate, and enhance the delivery of continuing education and training through an independent peer-evaluation process. Additionally, our programs are approved for VA Education funding and are recognized through the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA), and California’s Bureau for Private Post-Secondary Education (BPPE).
100% Online Programs. The College offers both 100% Online and hybrid certificate, degree, and other course and program offerings. The BMET and BESS Certificate and Degree programs are designed to be delivered in a 100% Online format, for example. However, many of the Imaging courses offered through the College have been designed to be delivered in a hybrid format (part online and part hands-on). Our goal in providing multiple formats is to increase quality while saving our students and employer partners time and money. Hybrid Programs (Online and Hands-On). The College also offers courses in a hybrid format. Hybrid courses include both online and traditional hands-on training. Yes. The College regularly works with healthcare organizations to develop and design customized education and training content. We do not believe in “cookie cutter” approaches to education and endeavor to work with the organizations we support to constantly improve the quality of the training we provide our students. By working with healthcare organizations to develop customized training conent we improve our abilities as an educational institution and thus improve quality and student outcomes.
Accredited educational institutions, like the College of Biomedical Equipment Technology, are discouraged from making guarantees regarding the transferability of credit. However, most educational institutions collaborate to support the transfer of credits from one institution to another. Accreditation plays an important role in ensuring recognition of our programs and the transferability of credit earned from the college. Our goal is to ensure the education and training we provide is consistent with the standards prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education and monitored by our accrediting agency, the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET). Yes. 100% of the credits earned in either the BMET Certificate Program (24 Credits) and the BESS Certificate Program (30 Credits) transfer directly into the BMET Associate Degree and BESS Associate Degree programs.
Yes. The College of Biomedical Equipment Technology has partnered with Charter College to develop a 4-year Healthcare Technology Management degree (Bachelor of Science). Our partnership with Charter college guarantees 100% transferability of your credits earned at CBET.EDU into the HTM degree offered at Charter College. CBET developed the curriculum and provides instructional staff to support delivery of the courses offered through Charter College. Like the CBET programs, the Charter College program is uniquely designed to meet the needs of the HTM community. Yes. The College of Biomedical Equipment Technology recognizes Apprenticeships as being a valuable component of workforce development and supports apprenticeship programs by serving as the Related Training and Instruction (RTI) provider for the required educational components of apprenticeship programs. The College supports apprenticeships by offering employers a significant discount on all Related Training and Instruction components of the apprenticeship. Yes, we will consider transfer credit awards for prospective students with prior education and training from accredited educational instutions outside of the United States. However, to be considered for transfer credit award, international students must have their academic records translated and recognized by an authorized international transcript evalauting service. The Student Services Department will conduct an intial transfer credit evaluation based on unnoficial transcripts. However, in order for transfer credit to be awarded to a student, an official transcript will be required.
We understand that it can be difficult to obtain a copy of a high school transcript and diploma. However, we do ask that prospective students provide documented evidence of completing a secondary educational program or equivelant (GED). If unable to obtain an official copy of a high school diploma or transcript students will be asked to provide an attestation.
Upon succesful program completion, students enter into a conferral period. The conferral process includes a review of the students personal information, student file, and degree audit. Upon completion, and verification with the student, diplomas and official transcripts are issued. The process typically takes 30-days to complete.
