HTM Associations
Why student membership in an association is important
Professionalization. The state and national associations play an important role in the professionalization of the HTM Industry. Membership elevates your career through networking, access to free education and training, and many other benefits.
Mentorship and Guidance. Associations offer new technicians and HTM professionals an opportunity to be part of a mentorship network. Participating in the work of Associations means opportunity to find a mentor, or perhaps be one.
Free Education and Training. The Associations host monthly, quarterly, and annual meetings. Most associations include guest speakers and free education to support their membership. These opportunities allow members to gain valuable access to innovative ideas, new developments, and best practices in HTM.
Scholarship Opportunities. The College recognizes and rewards participation in professional organizations, visit your association website to learn more.
Keeping up with Standards. The role of the HTM professional is complex and growing increasingly so. Biomedical Equipment Technicians, Imaging Engineers, and others fulfilling roles in the HTM career field are challenged to keep up with new and evolving standards. Associations are a great place to learn and discuss the implications of standards, develop and share best practices, and be at the front-end of change shaping the industry.
Grow the Career Field. HTM Professionals are a unique group. The work they do in healthcare directly impacts patient safety and changes lives. Recruiting, maintaining, and growing the profession to meet the demands of tomorrow is one of the most important purposes of the associations.
