We offer several methods of paying for your education.         

Interest Free Payment Plan

The College offers all students the opportunity to establish a payment plan, allowing them to split the total cost of their program into equal monthly installments. What makes this program unique is that it offers 0% interest throughout the life of the plan. Whether your educational program is just a few months or longer, you have the flexibility to extend your payment plan to establish a reasonable low monthly payment. This helps to significantly reduce the monthly out-of-pocket expenses for families. The monthly payment amounts for the program are typically set between $255.00 per month for Certificate Programs and $295.00 per month for degree programs. Scholarships

In addition to accepting externally funded scholarships, the college also offers internal scholarships, including the “First Sergeant Sammy Davis Scholarship”, the “First Sergeant Warran Bassuk Scholarship”, and the Glyn Hopkins Memorial Scholarship”. In addition to the 10% discount automatically applied to all healthcare workers tuition rates, several of our strategic partners have formed Educational Service Agreements (ESA’s) with the college. ESA’s enable students to take advantage of Employer Tuition Assistance Programs in order to further extend the value of employer contributions supporting professional develop and education initiatives.

Active Duty Service Members and Veterans

Active Duty Service Members and Veterans qualified for Veterans Education benefits may apply those benefits towards educational programs at the College of Biomedical Equipment Technology to help pay for school. Ready to Work

Ready to Work (RTW) is San Antonio’s unprecedented education and job placement program designed to assist individuals with learning new skills, training for employment, and earning money. In 2020, San Antonio voters overwhelmingly approved the $200 million program, which is funded by a 1/8-cent sales tax. Local employers have pledged support for the program and provide guidance relating to in-demand, well-paid occupations, and relevant training.

Students can access various types of financial support, including scholarships, loans, Retail Installment Contracts (RIC), and other forms of support. These can come from federal or state governments, colleges or universities, and private organizations. The specific eligibility criteria for each type of aid will vary.

No. Currently, the College of Biomedical Equipment Technology does not participate in Federal Financial Aid programs.

Scholarships and grants are considered “gift aid” that does not have to be repaid. They can be given based on financial need, academic achievement, or other factors. Loans, on the other hand, must be repaid, typically with interest.

A retail installment contract is a financing agreement between a buyer and a seller. The student agrees to cost of the program and make a series monthly, installment payments over a pre-determined period. The contract includes the programs purchase price, repayment period. The College of Biomedical Equipment Technology offers a Zero Interest RIC option, with payments as low as 225.00 per month, for students pursuing Certificate and Degree programs.

The employer pay option for education, also known as tuition reimbursement or tuition assistance, is an employee benefit program provided by some companies to support their employees in pursuing further education that can enhance their job-related skills. This program aims to foster personal and professional growth by encouraging employees to develop knowledge and skills that are beneficial to both the individual and the company. The College works with healthcare organizations, nationally, to support employer pay and tuition reimbursement options.

The college offers a 10% tuition discount to healthcare workers as part of its commitment to support their continuing education and training. This discount can be availed by eligible students who are currently employed in healthcare roles. To apply for the discount, healthcare workers need to submit employment documentation or proof of involvement in patient care alongside their college application. Once approved, the 10% discount is applied to their tuition fees for the duration of their program at the college. This initiative encourages healthcare professionals to pursue further education, enhancing their skills and expertise in their respective fields.

The certificate program is offered 100% online. The AAS program includes a 135 hour onsite externship; however, during COVID-19 a capstone is also available.

Yes, the Department of Veterans Affairs acknowledges the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology – IDL as evidence of education and employment readiness.

Yes, all courses successfully completed at the certificate level will transfer into the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology.

Yes, the CBET team provides educational services and assists with job placement for all students, including international students. Although we make no guarantees, it is our mission to put people to work and we make every effort to place our graduates.

CBET works with each student to identify an appropriate externship location. In some cases, particularly in cases where students are located in remote areas, travel may be required. Students requiring housing in the San Antonio area during their externship should budget $5000 to compensate for travel and living expenses. The College will assist students in finding suitable housing during their externship; however, housing is not provided by the College.

It depends on the status of the student. Full time students attend 60 Weeks or 15 Months and part-time students attend 120 Weeks or 30 Months. All program requirements must be completed within a maximum time frame of 1.5 times the normal program length. Once a student reaches the 150% point of their program, the student’s enrollment will be terminated unless a request is made from the student to the instructor or Director of Education to continue the program.
