Course Description
This hybrid course provides medical equipment technicians with the foundational knowledge and hands-on skills required to support tabletop sterilizers used in clinical, dental, and outpatient healthcare settings. The online portion introduces core terminology, principles of sterilization, system operation, safety features, installation requirements, and regulatory considerations to prepare students for effective hands-on training.

The in-person lab builds on this foundation through practical instruction focused on operation, preventative maintenance, performance verification, and troubleshooting. Using guided demonstrations, checklists, and simulated faults, students develop the skills necessary to ensure tabletop sterilizers operate safely, effectively, and in compliance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
