Course Description
This hybrid course provides medical equipment technicians
with foundational knowledge and hands-on skills required to support maintenance
and troubleshooting patient beds and operating room tables in healthcare
environments. The online portion introduces terminology, system functionality,
modality differences, safety features, installation requirements, and
regulatory considerations to prepare students for effective hands-on learning.
The in-person lab builds on this foundation through practical exercises focused on operation, preventative maintenance, electrical safety testing, and troubleshooting. Through guided labs, demonstrations, and simulated faults, students develop the skills necessary to ensure safe operation, regulatory compliance, and optimal performance of these critical patient care systems.
