Course Overview
The MET 100 Series is a six-week foundational training program designed for aspiring entry-level Biomedical Equipment Technicians (BMETs), offering flexible training options including 100% online instruction, immersive XR laboratory content, weekly live instructor-led training (ILT) webinars, and an optional hands-on component.
Students develop foundational knowledge of medical terminology, body systems, medical devices, electronics, networking, safety, and regulatory compliance within healthcare environments. Through structured modules, participants gain familiarity with biomedical equipment, diagnostic tools, technical documentation, troubleshooting methodologies, and industry best practices.
The program also introduces healthcare technology management concepts such as infection control, risk mitigation, and medical device networking fundamentals. The course concludes with a cumulative assessment designed to reinforce core concepts and prepare students for progression into higher-level MET courses.
The MET100 Series is aligned with the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) Certified Associate in Biomedical Technology (CABT) testing objectives.
