Course Overview

The DENT 100 Series, Introduction to the Dental Environment, is a six-week foundational program designed for entry-level Dental Repair Technicians (DRTs) and Biomedical Equipment Technicians (BMETs). This course provides a broad overview of the dental clinical environment, introducing the equipment, systems, and workflows that support daily operations.

Students build a strong baseline understanding of how dental equipment functions within a clinical setting, including key concepts in safety, sterilization, and regulatory requirements. The course also introduces fundamental technical concepts such as basic electrical principles, hydraulics, and equipment components.

Through structured modules, participants gain familiarity with common tools, resources, and documentation used in the field, laying the groundwork for more advanced troubleshooting and repair training. The program concludes with a cumulative assessment designed to reinforce core concepts and prepare students for progression into higher-level DENT courses.
