Course Description

This hybrid course provides medical equipment technicians with the knowledge and hands-on skills required to support defibrillators used in clinical and emergency care environments. The online portion introduces core terminology, operating principles, modality differences, safety features, installation requirements, and regulatory considerations to prepare students for hands-on applications.

The in-person lab reinforces this foundation through practical training focused on operation, preventative maintenance, electrical safety testing, and troubleshooting. Through guided demonstrations, checklists, and simulated faults, students gain the skills necessary to ensure defibrillators operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with manufacturer and industry standards.
